Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER KOWALZIK After a long, hard fought battle with cancer, Walter passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 16, 2007. Walter was born on December 26, 1923 in Germany. As a young man he had many adventures traveling around the world working aboard ships until in 1954 he decided to follow his brother Gunther, to Canada. His skill as a carpenter allowed him to work on many projects across Manitoba but he fell in love with the cottage country at Pointe du Bois. Together with his wife Jean, he built a home and raised a family there. Walter was a proud and generous man who loved to spend some time fishing after a hard days work. He was also one of the first ones on the dance floor at any party and was always happy to chat with friends. He will be sadly missed by his wife Jeannette and his children Carla, Julia and Paul. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Beausejour Hospital and Lac du Bonnet care for their exceptional care and kindness through these difficult and sad past two years. We also wish to thank the many friends and neighbors in Pointe Du Bois for their many considerate acts. In particular, when the community rallied around to help the family avert a tragedy and bring Walter safely to the hospital. In keeping with Walters' wishes, there will be no funeral and he will be laid quietly to rest in Lac du Bonnet Cemetery on Wednesday, September 19, 2007.
